December has given me a few reasons to smile... another birthday, a role in a short film and my recent appearance on the Nate Berkus Show. A few months ago I was scheduled to appear on Nate's show in a segment for thrift store fashions with blogger Patrice J. Williams of "Looking Fly on a Dime"
. I wrote about it here.
Earlier this month I received an email from the show asking me to come back to shoot a holiday segment and bring back my polka dot dress. (no need to twist my arm!) This seems like a good time to insert a cliché
like... "Good things come to those who wait". Corny? Perhaps, but its sooooo true! This experience exceeded my expectations. Makeup artist, Unique London
, was an absolute doll and gave me a gorrrrgeous smokey eye; I love her and definitely want to work with her again. The highlight of the day was seeing iconic fashion model Cristina Ferrare who paid me a compliment backstage. (pinch me please). To answer the FAQ's:-Yes, I g
ot to keep my entire look.
-$25 for the entire look? Hmmm, maybe...maybe not? This IS reality t.v. ;)So now that I've been on Doctor Oz and Nate Berkus, (briefly met) Cristina Ferrare...I feel as if I am closer to working with Oprah. Am I getting ahead of myself? Maybe...maybe not. Good things come to those who wait, right?
